cell phone and tracking

cell phone and tracking

This has been around a while(2006). Where the 'Feds'(FBI, police, security forces, governments) will do some magic and activate(power up) peoples cell phones in order to listen to the 'local area' conversations, or to track the user of the cell phone.
*Software update to your cell phone.
*Remote activation of your cell phone(was it really turned off or did it just appear to be off?).
*GPS locations device, that is already built into your cell phone.
*Cell tower triangulation of your cell phone.

Why is the government so intent on tracking of innocent people(protestors) as well? As one of the articles points out, is that a regular civilian would be jailed for this type of activity, yet the police and Federal agents can do it without being arrested and dragged into court for their crime. Two tiers of the justice system are getting to be such a nuisance for civilization.

The FBI appears to have begun using a novel form of electronic surveillance in criminal investigations: remotely activating a mobile phone's microphone and using it to eavesdrop on nearby conversations.
The technique is called a "roving bug," and was approved by top U.S. Department of Justice officials for use against members of a New York organized crime family who were wary of conventional surveillance techniques such as tailing a suspect or wiretapping him.
Judge Kaplan's opinion said that the eavesdropping technique "functioned whether the phone was powered on or off." Some handsets can't be fully powered down without removing the battery.

The U.S. Commerce Department's security office warns that "a cellular telephone can be turned into a microphone and transmitter for the purpose of listening to conversations in the vicinity of the phone." An article in the Financial Times last year said mobile providers can "remotely install a piece of software on to any handset, without the owner's knowledge, which will activate the microphone even when its owner is not making a call."

Cell phone users, beware. The FBI can listen to everything you say, even when the cell phone is turned off.
A recent court ruling in a case against the Genovese crime family revealed that the FBI has the ability from a remote location to activate a cell phone and turn its microphone into a listening device that transmits to an FBI listening post, a method known as a "roving bug." Experts say the only way to defeat it is to remove the cell phone battery.

And yet another warning that your OnStar car system, is a cell phone and can records all sorts of data for noisy buggers.

Surreptitious activation of built-in microphones by the FBI has been done before. A 2003 lawsuit revealed that the FBI was able to surreptitiously turn on the built-in microphones in automotive systems like General Motors' OnStar to snoop on passengers' conversations.
When FBI agents remotely activated the system and were listening in, passengers in the vehicle could not tell that their conversations were being monitored.

Just imagine when car makers add their WiFi computer systems to cars, so a grouping of vehicles can 'talk' to each other. Oh and of course they say it is for safety. But then clam up quickly when people ask questions on what type of security is on those systems to prevent abuse by hackers and abuse by the police.

BART(Bay Area Rapid Transit) shuts off cell phone system in stations, to prevent people protesting. Big Brother is mad that the Sheeple are waking up and actually telling our elected leaders and police forces to either be nice or be removed from their pulpits of power.
The protest was for the July 3 fatal shooting of a knife-wielding passenger by BART police, the second fatal shooting by BART authorities two years.

Oh looky. Another constitution free zone in the stations, just like the thought police in British Columbia's rapid transit stations.

SAN FRANCISCO -- BART and its passengers are bracing for a 5 p.m. demonstration today at Civic Center Station in San Francisco by people angry that the transit agency cut underground cellular phone service for three hours Thursday evening in an effort to quell an antipolice protest.

BART shut down cell service Thursday at four downtown San Francisco stations, Johnson said. The agency did not jam cell signals, which is illegal, but shut off the system - which Johnson said is allowable under an agreement with several major phone service providers that pay rent to BART.
Lynette Sweet, a member of BART's Board of Directors, said today that she opposed any further disruption of cell service and would seek to bring the issue before the board for a vote.
"This is one where we can almost say we're stuck on stupid," Sweet said. "We put ourselves on the radar screen for no good reason. This is a country that champions civil liberties all the time. So why would a transit agency take it upon themselves to trample on civil liberties?"
She added, "We can't say, 'We only want you to talk when we want you to talk.' "

Hey look. 911 service was also cutoff when the cell phone system was shut down. Oh but BART did shut it down for safety, right?

Text from the final scene of the first Matrix movie.

We see a screen like the one at the beginning. Matrix code appears as Neo begins to speak. A box which says system failure appears on the screen.

Neo : I know you're out there...I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us, you're afraid of change...I don't know the future...I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end, I came here to tell you how this is going to begin. Now, I'm going to hang up this phone, and I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you...a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries. A world...where anything is possible. We travel down a phone line, as we see that Neo is in a phone box. Neo : Where we go from there...is a choice I leave to you...

People who constantly bathe in the glory of power, tend to get drunk on power and those are the ones that hate it when the Slaves stand up for their Rights and Freedoms. And the people in power will do lots of things to try and remove anyone who dares challenge the governments corruption and the police forces corruption.
We shall educate the slaves into taking back their land from the Tyrants.
